where did you get married? and maybe that's why i thought you were older like 24+ because i read that you're married
I think people are little confused as to what it means to be married in my eyes. Let me explain and tag this, so that I don’t have to keep answering this question over and over (I’m not blaming you, anon!).
What I mean when I say married— Tracy is my life partner. While life partner is a nice and fancy term, it’s really just easier to say ‘wife’ most of the time. We are going to spend the rest of our lives together. We have exchanged rings. We live together. We pay bills together. We do everything married couples do together. We are spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally “bonded” / married.
The pitfall: our state doesn’t allow gay marriage. Does this matter to us? No. We don’t need a piece of paper to tell us whether or not we’re married. Ergo, we are married. However, we would like the state to recognize us for the benefits that we deserve and need as married persons. We’re waiting on PA to make that move. This does not change the fact that we consider ourselves married. Paper is not marriage; love and a lifetime commitment are marriage.
